How Your Why Drives Your Success

Are you feeling stuck in your business or struggling to achieve your goals? As a business coach, I've seen time and time again how having a single-minded focus with purpose and passion can make all the difference.

When setting goals, it's important to have a clear understanding of why you want to achieve them. Your "Why" is the underlying motivation behind your goal and can help keep you focused and committed even in the face of challenges. High achievers understand their why and use it to adapt to any obstacle on their journey.

Let me share with you a real-life example of how understanding your why can make a difference in achieving your goals. A few years ago, a business owner approached me with the goal of selling their business and moving back to their home country within 3-months. However, after asking a few questions, we realised that this goal was a huge ask, as the business was not completely set up to run without them.

We then re-evaluated the situation and determined that it would be more relevant to set up the business to run under management in the short term and then place the business on the market in 12 - 18 months’ time. Once the business owner understood their why and adjusted their goal, we focused on the nine steps to systematise the business and achieve their new goal.

By establishing the "right things" to focus on and applying the necessary focus, energy, and attention, the business owner was able to achieve their goal of having the business run under management within three months. This example shows how important it is to have a clear understanding of your why and to be flexible in adapting your goals to overcome obstacles.

We all have a choice in how much and how quickly we can achieve our goals by choosing the degree of purpose and passion. When we have a burning desire to achieve something, we will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

My question for you is, why don't we approach every day and every goal with the same high degree of why, purpose, and passion? By understanding our why and applying it to our daily actions and goals, we can achieve outstanding results, no matter how far out of our comfort zone we may have to go.

Overall, understanding your why and having a single-minded focus with purpose and passion can make all the difference in achieving your goals. As a business coach, I encourage you to evaluate your goals, determine your why, and apply the necessary focus, energy, and attention to achieve your desired outcomes.
